I became interested Moogly, which is run by blogger, teacher and designer Tamara Kelly, through hearing all about her on the Yarn Thing podcast. Not long after that, I checked out her blog and found a gorgeous, free crochet pattern that I really wanted to make!
It's called the Sunset Shawlette.
I actually taught some students how to make the shawlette in a class I taught at Sheep Thrills Yarn Store in Lauderhill, FL. The stitch pattern is really compelling and it's nice because even though you start with a really long chain, the pattern decreases as you go so you can feel the progress you're making! Link directly to Moogly's free pattern here.
Since I recently started my own newsletter, I signed up for Moogly's newsletter as well. It is so exciting! She shares pictures of projects that people have made with her patterns.
Since I had made the beautiful shawlette with her pattern, I decided to submit the photos to her newsletter. She's so sweet! She wrote back the next day and said "It's gorgeous Caissa :D I'll be sure to email you before it goes out in the newsletter!"
{Here's a screen shot of it!}
{Thank you, Tamara!}
Wow! I was really excited to hear that Tamara Kelly would be sharing my work! So I went ahead and wrote up this mid-week post to let my readers know and also to welcome any Moogly fans who might stop by!
If you're interested in signing up for Tamara's newsletter, which is packed with fun stuff, click here, and fill in your email address at the top of the page on the right hand side.
By the way, I also have a newsletter, which goes out monthly and focuses on crafts, crochet & education. You can sign up for that below. Thanks for reading!
