5th Blogoversary Reflections (with good things to come)

Pájaro Mexicano, MusiBatty, 2012
You could win this. Exciting? I know!
I have had the time recently to reflect upon my creative life.  I am incredibly happy to say that this blog, which started from a place of creativity and needing to connect has definitely been that space for me.

It's kind of hard to write this post because I have so much to say.  I feel immensely privileged to have become a part of such a strong crafting community that spans the globe.

I am very grateful to the people who have read the blog over the years.   In fact, I am surprised that anyone read it at all!  I started the blog just to document my crafts and to express myself.  It's grown into a lot for me, and I'm overjoyed that people really seem to like it.

I don't always update the blog, but I will be making a concerted effort to update on a regular basis this year.  I am hoping to have a giveaway every month in order to celebrate my 5th year.  (I have 3 scheduled so far... stay tuned!)  I do blog from the heart, and I always will.

I am opening my mind to new possibilities this year.  I'm going to stretch and see where this blog can take me.  I am listening to my creative heart.  I am attracting all of the abundance this world has to offer.

I guess what I want to say is thank you.  Thanks so much for reading the blog.  It means the world to me, and I hope that you get something out of it.

Oh yeah! I have to tell you how to win the bird you see above.

J. Musi, the creative force behind MusiBatty, is a resplendent soul who creates incredible, beautiful, wearable, precious jewelry.  I met J. at a craft fair at the Anglican church in Mexico City while I was looking for books in English.  It might have been happenstance, but I am so glad we met because I really connected with her art.   I could tell that the pieces I was looking at were of quality, and that they were lovingly made by the artist before me.  Jennifer took the time to explain her process, and the precious metals she used.  I immediately assumed that I couldn't afford them, but I was surprised by her prices.  Not cheap, by any means, but then, they shouldn't be.  The process she uses is unique and the quality of her work is incredible.  My budget allowed me to purchase a couple of items!

I love MusiBatty!!! Whenever she comes out with new items I am so excited. I love them. I love all of them. I want to wear them!!  They are so wearable and they really make me feel proud when I wear them. They are unique and they look great on.  The pieces hold special meaning for me because I know that I am supporting a small, female-owned business.  I'm kind of gushing, but you have got to check out her stuff to know what I mean!

So, back to the bird!  I wanted to give something really special to my readers, so I spoke with Jennifer and she's GENEROUSLY agreed to give away a Mexican Bird Pendant to one lucky Art, Like Bread reader!  I haven't done a giveaway of this magnitude before, so I have made a careful plan to be fair and transparent, and to make sure everything is done on schedule (in time for the December holidays!)

La la la la la la la

I will be posting the details of the giveaway on October 15, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. EST, so please check back then if you are interested in the bird!!  I'll also be doing an interview with the artist herself on October 1!  I still have time for questions, so if you have any questions for the artist Jennifer Musi, leave them here in the comments and I may be able to include it in the interview!
