I have been loving hand sewing. It's a portable craft, and you'd be surprised to see how much you can get done while driving in the car. If you're organized you can definitely sew on the go.
There are a bunch of good tutorials for fabric flowers. I didn't follow a tutorial per say, but I had seen several before making this. Annekata and Cluck Cluck Sew have excellent tutorials with projects very similar to what I did. Wedding Bee and The Tidy Nest have neat flower tutorials that are slightly different, but just as cool.
