My Hat, a la Threadbanger

I found a neat tutorial on a floppy beret hat on... THREADBANGER.

Here are the written instructions:
Threadbanger- How to Crochet a hat

10.5 needle- bulky jarn, more than 103 yards

foundation: ch 8, make a loop by sc

Row 1 = 2 sc in each = 16
Row 2 = 1-3 = sc, 4th = 2 sc
Row 3 = SC all around
Row 4 = 2 SC all around
Row 5 = 1-4 = sc, 5th = 2 sc
Row 6 = SC all around
Row 7 = 1-5 = sc, 6th = 2 sc
Row 8 = SC all around
Row 9 = 1-6 = sc, 7th = 2 sc
Row 10 = 1-7 = sc, 8th = 2 sc
Row 11 = 1-8 = sc, 9th = 2 sc
Row 12 = 1-9 = sc, 10th = 2 sc
Row 13 = 1-10 = sc, 11th = 2 sc
Row 14 = 1-11 = sc, 12th = 2 sc
Row 15 = 1-12 = sc, 13th = 2 sc
then SC in all stitches until you get good depth.

Decrease Rows
Dec. Row 1 = sc 1-3, skip 4th
Dec. Row 2 = sc 1-3, skip 4th and 5th.

Here's my version of the hat - the plastic horror!! At least I had fun making it.
